WHO IS JESUS?
Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. - John 14:6. (NIV)
Who is Jesus? One of the world's most asked questions, that has echoed through the ages, touching hearts and transforming lives. Jesus Christ is the central figure of Christianity, revered as the Son of God and the Savior of the world. His life, teachings, death, and resurrection forms the foundation of Christian faith.
Jesus was born in Bethlehem, grew up in Nazareth, and lived a life marked by compassion, wisdom, and miraculous deeds. He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, and even raised the dead. But beyond His miracles, Jesus taught us about love, forgiveness, and redemption; he taught us to love our neighbors, forgive those who wrong us, and seek a relationship with God.
In John 14:6, Jesus declares Himself as the way, the truth, and the life. This profound statement encapsulates His role in our lives. As the way, Jesus guides us to a relationship with God. As the truth, He reveals God's nature and His plan for humanity. As the life, He offers us eternal life through His sacrifice on the cross.
Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection are pivotal events in Christian belief. Through His death, He took upon Himself the sins of the world, offering redemption to all who seek him and believe in Him. His resurrection three days later is a testament to His victory over sin and death, providing hope and assurance of eternal life for believers.
Steps to accepting Jesus Christ
Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is a profound and personal decision, here are some steps to guide you through this important journey:
1. Acknowledge Your Need for Salvation
Recognize that everyone has sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Romans 3:23). Admitting your sins is the first step towards seeking forgiveness and salvation.
2. Believe in Jesus Christ
Have faith that Jesus is the Son of God who died for your sins and rose again.
3. Invite Jesus into Your Heart
Invite Jesus to come into your life as your Lord and Savior, and decide to turn away from your old ways and follow Jesus. Take a moment to thank Him for His sacrifice and the hope He brings into your life.
4. Confess Your Sins
Confess your known and unknown sins to God and ask for His forgiveness. If you confess your sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive your sins and purify you from all unrighteousness, with the precious Blood of Jesus Christ.
*Do you need to confess your sins to a pastor?
No. Do not be deceived; you don’t need a pastor to confess your sins. No matter the extent of your sins, God is your Father, and His door is always open to everyone. Whenever you are ready, you can always have a one-on-one conversation with God. Just be honest and ask Him to wash you clean with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, who purchased your freedom with His sacrifice.
5. Today's Prayer
Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.
6. Share your faith
