 GOODNESS OF GOD

Today's Scripture

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8. (NIV)

Reflection:

The Goodness of God is a theme that runs throughout the Bible, reminding us of God's unwavering love and faithfulness. In times of joy and in moments of sorrow, God's goodness remains a constant source of comfort and strength.

1. God's Goodness in Creation
From the very beginning, God's goodness is evident in the beauty and order of creation. Genesis 1:31 tells us, "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good." Every sunrise, every blooming flower, and every breath we take is a testament to God's goodness.

2. God's Goodness in Our Lives
God's goodness is not just a distant concept; it is personal and tangible. Psalm 23:6 assures us, "Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life." Even when we face challenges, we can trust that God's goodness is working in our lives, shaping us and drawing us closer to Him.

3. God's Goodness in Salvation
The ultimate demonstration of God's goodness is found in the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Romans 5:8 declares, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." This sacrificial love is the pinnacle of God's goodness, offering us forgiveness and eternal life.

Recognizing God's goodness

Gratitude: 

Take a moment each day to thank God for His goodness. Reflect on the ways He has blessed you and provided for you.

Trust:

In difficult times, remind yourself of God's goodness. Trust that He is working all things for your good, even when you cannot see it.

Share:

Let the goodness of God shine through you. Be a reflection of His love and kindness to those around you.

Today's Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your unending goodness. Help me to see Your hand at work in my life and to trust in Your perfect plan. May I always remember Your love and share it with others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
